Looks at George Jung and his ambitious rise as an international drug kingpin and his vanguard position as the gringo connection trusted by the Colombian Medellin cartel to help infiltrate the burgeoning American cocaine market. Jung won the confidence of Pablo Escobar of the tightly knit Medellin cartel. With Escobar's limitless supply of coke, they set up an elaborate import scheme that eventually supplied more than 80 percent of the cocaine in the United States for the next fifteen years, grossing nearly $35 billion annually and reaching blizzard proportions by 1985, when an estimated 125 tons of the snow-white powder entered the country. The ride eventually came to a screeching halt when Jung was ensnared in a joint law-enforcement undercover sting operation in 1985, and his fortunes unraveled.
