The author has discovered, buried deep in the archives of the Library of Congress, a number of photograph albums containing unique pictures that General George S. Patton himself took during World War Two. These have proved to be a goldmine of first-hand historical images of which even Patton's official biographer was unaware. Patton used his standard-issue Leica camera to photograph everything that interested him, on battlefields in North Africa and Sicily, and across continental Europe from the D-Day landings to Berlin.
